"it's a hell of a town"

So, dear readers, La Femme has officially embarked on the NY Fashion Week adventure- as you can see, I have my miu mius, press pass and The Daily Front Row. Yesterday was a whirlwind of snapping flashbulbs, extraordinarily thin Russians, gorgeous clothing and Ivana Trump's hair. I am now in search of a decent internet cafe that will allow me to upload some of the photos I have taken, and translate my mad musings into a coherent blog entry. So, please stay tuned! An update is imminent...

taxi driver

Him: 'Where did you fly in from?'

Moi: 'London'

Him: 'Ah. Do you work in the fashion... realm?'

Moi: 'Yes.' (God, yes!)

Is it really that obvious? Is the blue beanie on my head a marker of some sort? Or are all femmes coming in from London somehow connected to the fashion industry? Whatever the reason, it felt strangely affirming and left me grinning for ages. Like those macaroons in Paris, only better :)

stripe stroke

These were taken over the course of one day in Tokyo last month...

I gather stripes are in!

bang and bob it

Did it all start with Marie Louise?

Bobs are everywhere (from left, Rachel, Alison, Patricia). The inky black 'Louise Brooks' style that ML had last season seems to be the big hit, however Natalia Vodianova also sports the red version in September's US Vogue. Heck, there was a drag queen on my street the other day with a blue one. As if this could get any better, A at IHG posted these pics of gorgeous Natalia with a pink bob. Kuwaii! that's definitely the winner for me. A hit of bubblegum punk is just the remedy for seasons of tousled boho hair. One definitely needs the eye makeup to match though. Any takers for fall?

Opinions, please:
To bob or not to bob, that is the question...
Oui!
Non!
Only if you look like a model!

scribble away...

Wow. I hadn't really tapped into the scribble dress trend until fh photographed the femme at right in NY last night. The dress at left was a definite hit from Proenza Schouler, but even my beloved Chloe Sevigny couldn't pull the style off quite like these two. Perhaps Asian women just look better in stencilled graphic dresses?
