the devil wears patchouli

I've been peeking inside Anna Wintour's "Chekhovian retreat" in the Hamptons, and must say that the shabby chic interior of a "tumbledown hippie house" (to quote Ms. Wintour directly) is not at all what I had in mind. However, I wasn't as surprised by that as the sappy accompanying article- here is an excerpt from World of Interiors magazine:
