cotton couture

There are few garments designed by Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons that I can imagine wearing out (remember the leg-o-mutton sleeve dresses affixed to jacket fronts in the "conceptual" fall collection?). But now I'm having second thoughts about my bias. This elegantly messy cream halter dress is the main reason. I fell in love somewhere between the gorgeous neckline, all that pleated cream cotton, and the unusual, but perfect choice of gladiator sandals.

I can't believe it's CDG, I would have thought it was a designer more like Lanvin, but anyhow it's beautiful!

Looks like a grown-up Degas; from the tension at the neck, through the dress, and to the extended left hand and crossed-over left leg.
Fantastic dress and photograph.

Pigs are flying out of someone's ass somewhere, you might see me in a pair of flats soon, Commes des Our Postmodern Pseudo Intellectualism Justifies Making Ugly Clothes has made something beautiful.
