Little details and expert tailoring are what makes clothing beautiful to me. Nicolas Ghesquière's spring 06 collection for Balenciaga (while perhaps not the easiest to wear...) fulfilled both categories, as these polaroids show. His designs were impressive on the runway, but these images- taken backstage on an illuminated mannequin during a Nick Knight shoot for pop magazine- allow us to examine the collection in stark, beautful detail.
