After a year of contract disputes, Hedi Slimane and his infamously slim silhouette have been dropped by Dior. Creative control is now in the hands of Kris Van Assche, a Belgian designer who worked as Hedi's assistant, and may just bring some colour to the characteristically stark Dior Homme collections...
I will miss Hedi (and his baby food), but doubt the maverick will stay dormant for long. A new line is likely imminent, and I pray to the style gods that it involves apparel for femmes too.

I love the new posts Adeleine!
Oh no.
Monsieur Eh-dee!
OMG do I have the money to buy a Dior Homme outfit?!
I want some pants or a skinny tie or some shoes or something! Time to scrounge!
Ah, we'll miss Monsieur Slimane...the great thing about Dior Homme skinniness was that it could potentially let us pinch our boyfriends' clothing without LOOKING like them.
But Assche looks interesting. Let's see..
Omg, I didn't know about the babyfood! Am I twisted for thinking that that's one diet that I might actually be able to make work for me? I'm going to file that under "things that make you go hmmmm".
He has definitely made his mark, and shined the spotlight on men's fashion. And he's a character. I'm sure he will do something fabulous soon.
Mon dieu, Hedi Slimane's Dior Homme was genius. I hope for a line by him for femmes as well!
