amelie in my dress

I forgot to post last month about Audrey Tautou wearing La Femme's David Szeto dress to the opening of The Stinky Code at Cannes...

Cool, non? Well, I should clarify that it isn't exactly mine, because I have never worn it, but I have been coveting this backless creation since happening on the above promo photograph a couple seasons ago. That is a long time for a fashion obsession to last- especially for this femme.

Although jealous that Ms. Tautou got to strut around in it first, I was impressed that she (or probably her stylist) chose such unique ensembles for her appearances at Cannes. Apart from my backless Szeto, there was the whimsical Tsumori Chisato, and the elegant Balmain. Which was your favourite?

Definitely this one. I've always loved those balloon sleeves, to me they're the kind a fairy tale princess wears. :)

Hey, I don't see why need chosing , I love the three although the last two are my style, I would wear them all if i could. But I would be suprised if she actually had a stylist , most french actresses don't , and tautou always had her own style .Both a good actress (ignore the code!) , and a fashionable one!

i love all of them, though the balmain is simply divine. i found another picture of it here:

sometimes i think tautou is very similiar to her amelie character in that there is both an aura of whimsy and elegance attached to her persona.

Loved all 3! But the Tsumori Chisato one was the most outstanding to me.

Coolhunting eh? ;)

Très trés chic.

Love the Balmain. Super Chic. The Chisato is fab but will probably look weird and dated in a couple of years. You can't wear that kind of shit if your anything but super cute... otherwise you end looking like some kind of reject from the fat girl's hippie camp.

Btw, thanks for the word-up of facehunter. That guy has been sneaking around everywhere, taking pics when we least expected. I didn't know it was for a blog.

I love that the LBD is transitioning into a sweet look. Sure sexed up is isn't bad either, but the puffed sleeves and bow are nice accents.

Come back!
I have seen la Femme appear a lot of fab sites from
the sartorialist to fashionologie passing by relookage ,
just not here! I'm sure Toto won't mind

Haha, merci la chipie!

Funnily enough, I have been looking after Toto again this week, but she goes home tonight, and I promise to have posted by tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting so often!

They were all totally gorgeous, but i think the Tsumori Chisato just beats the others, just by a smidge though.

Audrey Tauto is so cute with short hairs and in this retro black dress.
