"Omg, I'm wearing a Pocahontas dress and a turban. I know it is supposed to be 'fashion forward', but maybe Miuccia won't notice if I change really quickly..."
But perhaps that is rash? I appreciate that Miuccia's designs are sometimes more artistic than salable... certainly, I hope that shiny turbans, nylon backpacks, bare bums and fringed sandals don't make it into the haute mainstream. The jewel toned satin was beautiful, and [if worn with pants] I can imagine the duchesse tunics will be popular next spring...
But despite the 'Rosie the Riveter' magnet on my fridge, those turbans are not doing it for me- what do you think of them?

Pas mal a vrai dire les turbans... pas pire que les leggings si on y pense.
Just looking at the turbans makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. Like it would feel so refreshing to pull one off and tousle the matted hair off your head - similar to the way it feels after you've been walking around with turban head after a shower. That was a pretty extended way for me to say no, the turbans aren't doing it for me either. ;)

I think I prefer leggings...
only j. lo can get away with turbans.
hate your job? visit http://todayattheoffice.com and tell the world about it!
great colours!:)
yeah, uh, I don't think I'll be wearing a turban... let's reserve it for sheikhs and hippies...
ehh...
yeah, i wouldn't
be wearing one either...
i'll take
leggins
over
turbans
any day.
the bare bums had reasoning behind it. miuccia claimed that she didn't like anything that she did "below the waist" - however, the one thing i have never felt in regard to mp is indifference.
until now. sad making...
I liked the brown belts, and at Marni too. But turbans - non...
I refuse any rosie looks! and I definitely chose leggings
I like the use of silk though , I hope that surfaces for future collections.
I feel the Diana Vreeland reference more than Rosie the Riveter...as a stylist I don't hate these turbans. Okay, so the fushia version is detestable but the more subdued colors are actually quite nice.
...and the super short tops will be fab for layering, though I'm surprised she didn't round out the collection with those layered options a la Marc Jacobs. She's like the antithesis of MJ last season.
I said the same thing yesterday, I am not so into them.
just say no to turbans...
just say no to turbans...
i love the turbans, it gives a thirties feel placed in the world of today. I think it is brilliant how the turbans - symbolizing the east / islam - are showed in these bright colours making them unpolitical and political at the same time.
My opinion is that it's the superhigh and supernarrow waist what is going, and is already on it's way, to be the future figure. I guess. And Miuccia guessed it 6 months ago. About the turban, it's not bad but it's sooooo excessive. I wouldn't wear it (not this winter...).
the turbans don't work for me either. a little to costumey that only the supercool elite can pull off (or a crazy old lady). i like christian lacroix's spring 06 headwraps better. much prettier and consumer friendly.
I wish I could wear one of those turbans as I visit London in spring. In my hometown, I couldn't wear one of those. People here wouldn't even see the cool of them.
But the Pocahontasstyle certainly doesn't work for me.. especially not with those shoes.
The minishirts/shorts (?) are so damn cool. I wish I had modellegs and modelmoney, and they'd be mine as soon as they hit the stores!
