Logical?
Maybe not. At least I had not previously envisioned koi fish (those glorious, enormous goldfish often seen gliding around in tanks at Japanese restaurants) as a template model for shoes. But it seems there are designers out there besides Marc Jacobs who use fauna as inspiration for their footwear designs- a good thing of course (logical can be ever so boring), however a tail protruding from each heel is on par to me with having mouse ears poking out of your toes.
Exhibit A: Trainers from sneaker freaker
Exhibit B: Stilletoes I came across at a museum
Hmm. I won't be crying "here fishy, fishy" anytime soon, but I must admit that it would cheer up the workplace if everyone's shoes had little eyes and mouths (feelers, wings... when to stop?). Now if Rick Owens designed a pair of bat boots or something, I might reconsider...

Nice picture from the Bata Shoe Museum! I used to live 2 minutes from there, and also work 2 minutes down the street. So on average I lived in the museum. My closet provides evidence of this fact.
Cheers,

I want that black fish in my foot!.
Asics also had all of those magazine ads w/sushi themes. Odd...
Ha! I love koi so that's the most random transformation in my mind--fish to sneaker. Tho I do like the colors :)
I must admit, the shoes are a bit creepy, but I would love to see someone wear them. Especially the heels, the stilletto shape is near to perfection!
