Eclectic elegance. This footwear from NY Fashion Week was sent by the lovely P of Banana et Chocolat. In your opinion, how does it compare with that of the Parisiennes and Italians?

The French still go on my top- though there's still something about the New yorkers that I can't disregard. French, New Yorkers, Italians.
It seems very much to capture the NY spirit. New Yorker style has to express itself in a lack of formality. And when the walls of formality come tumbling down it also releases the genie of individuality from its bottle (a horribly mixed metaphor, but that’s just me). And the third element then is that, if everyone is going around looking very casual, style boils down to the very small details, though I suppose this is true everywhere.
Me, personally: to love, Italian style; to admire, Parisian style; and to live, New York style.
The Italians have a flare in their chicness, the French are classic and victims at the same time. The French have amazing style but do so either classically or what is in style, they don't dare as much as the Italians. I do not know the NY scene to say...
Leopard shoes were all the rage a few seasons ago, purple shoes I haven't seen that in awhile, riding boots yes...but closer fitting in the top part of the foot.
thanks for posting this! I must say I like the eclectic feel also more casual less dictated by trends although overall all 3 achieve a kind a fabulous chic
I'm all for the French, but the New Yorkers do pretty well! They've both got that little something extra that gets me very interested and makes me want to see more. The Italians have the same effect on me...I love them all; the French, the NYs and the Italians! I admire and feel inspired by all of them.
new yorkers... like them! its seems that everyone in n.y has to have their own thing going on (their own thing going on in a very fashionable way may I say...) and this pic is a proof of that. french and italian people seem to do the expected, right thing in fashion. always.
Oh, so Paris. How I love ces femmes francaises-la. I have a pair of slouchy boots like that in black. I love that this season's shoes are comfortable and gorgeous at the same time.
i prefer the french...it's strange but i've noticed that french women don't expose as much leg as americans are used to. and by that i mean, when they do wear mini skirts or something really revealing, they also wear black tights or something else underneathe. i hardly see any naked legs on the street at all. well, of course, the increasingly chilly weather might be a contributer! perhaps it's different in the summer.
Very beautiful picture (and lovely purple shoes)! But I still prefer the parisian low boots! (and it s not because I m parisian and have tons of those boots!)
=] I have the shoes on the far left in black. But I believe the order from best to least best (not worst, because none are bad) would be the Parisiennes, the New Yorkers and then the Italians.
Do I see something glamorous in the Italian hemline? Do I see something fluid, and sensual, and elegant? Do I get a hint of the Venitian "Cinquecento"? Something unsullied by the streets of New York or alleys of Paris...or is it bias?

i prefer... NY!
different kinds, low hills, more confortable and maybe with more personal style.
the others seem a uniform. too alike.
thanx for your comment! i just love your blog (and your job!!!)
xoxo
Let's face it, nobody can out do French chic.
I love it all! (although I am drooling over the Parisian footwear). Why box one self in?
I believe those who are style intellects allow for a broad range influences. Perhaps you wouldn't wear it but you can still utilize it in some way.
The Parisiennes, for shure! Love your blog by the way!
I must secretly agree that the French are on top in this one. But I will never abandon my New York. My, we are a stylish people.

i'm lovin the parisiennes and italians.
New York is so this moment it's so passe.
I like the foot wear. But it's so over done.
Lets take it back to glamour!

You can see a lot of boots in Paris now (flat or not), and also leopard shoes... But no golden ones pefered by Italian women

I like the more casual style of the New Yorkers, although the Parisians look the most chic out of the three. Those Parisians are so rock'n'roll.
