girl with a pearlized bootie

An encore performance for Scarlett Johansson and MJ for Louis Vuitton. In my opinion, the Marilyn Monroe-meets-Vermeer style of these images beats last season's coquette-on-a-swing, but I may be blinded by that perfect red bootie. I love how the rich colours and textures of each ad (shot by Mert and Marcus) evoke oil paintings from the 17th century. More can be found here.

The colors maybe...but she will need about fifty more pounds and a bit more exuberance for life to be a 17th century Rubens.

A difficult confession for me -- Scarlett Johansson is turning more interesting. I'm still not sure I really go for it. In the first she looks like a tramp who's invaded a genre painting. In the second, well, pretty much the same. Yet there is something undeniably compelling; she exists at the boundary of voluptuous and volupté...

i love it... blinded by the bootie. isn't that what the ad is supposed to be selling? it's oppulent and decadent and lush, just what lv is supposed to be. splendid!

I couldn't agree with you more, these photos are way more appealing. I love the shoes and she actually looks quite beautiful. Bravo!

The Vuitton's spring-summer campaign 2007 was really disappointing: the pulpous Scarlett was "dramatically"transparent, totally disembodied . . . but now,GLAMOUR is obviously back .
